According to reports (通讯员: Ai Jie), a mother cruelly beat her 9-year-old daughter to death on suspicion of theft. The Gucheng County Court sentenced the mother to 10 years in prison.
The court investigation revealed that at around 2 p.m. on April 13th this year, Xiao Hua (pseudonym) went to the school to find her daughter Li Li (pseudonym) and asked if she had taken someone else's money. Li Li gave an evasive response. At around 3 p.m. that afternoon, Xiao Hua took Li Li home and continued to interrogate her, repeatedly beating her with an elastic rope on her back, buttocks, legs, etc., until 7 p.m. when Li Li fell off the chair and died.
The forensic examination determined that the victim, Li Li, suffered from extensive subcutaneous soft tissue contusions and bleeding caused by repeated strikes with a blunt object, resulting in traumatic shock and death. After the incident, the Gucheng County Procuratorate prosecuted the defendant Xiao Hua for intentional injury (resulting in death).
