Express News (Correspondent Lu Dan, Reporter Jin Chen and Hu Sanjiao) - On January 10, 2012, a male surnamed Sun from Jiangxi Province reported to the Shilipai Police Station in Yixing, accompanied by his relatives, that his wife who worked in Yixing had gone missing and he suspected she might have been kidnapped or subjected to other harm.
Through inquiry, the police station learned that the missing woman was named Xiao Hong. She was 29 years old, from Yichun, Jiangxi, and had suddenly disappeared on the evening of January 8th.
After investigation, the police found out that before her disappearance, Xiao Hong had close ties with a man named Jia Hu. Jia Hu was 30 years old, from Liupanshui, Guizhou, and did business in Yixing. His wife, A Zhen, was the same age as him and was from Huize, Yunnan. Usually, Jia Hu liked chatting online. Around October last year, he met Xiao Hong, a woman from Jiangxi who was one year younger than him, online. Not long after, Xiao Hong left her husband and came to Yixing to find Jia Hu. Jia Hu rented a house for Xiao Hong to make it convenient for their secret meetings.
After investigation, it was found that in October last year, Jia Hu's wife A Zhen discovered the relationship between her husband and Xiao Hong. She confronted them, and A Zhen’s younger brother, A Chang, even slashed Jia Hu with a knife, further deteriorating the relationship between the couple. The police checked Xiao Hong's mobile phone call records and found that on the morning of January 9th, Xiao Hong's phone had contacted a number from Huize, Yunnan, where Jia Hu's wife A Zhen was from.
Through analysis, the police identified a man named Tu Gen from Huize, Yunnan. He arrived in Yixing from Yunnan on January 7th and left Yixing on January 9th. After investigation, the police found out that Tu Gen was actually A Zhen's cousin.
On February 9th, the special task force of Yixing used an excuse of anti-gambling operation to summon A Chang, who was a major suspect. Soon, A Chang confessed that he had colluded with his sister A Zhen, offering 20,000 yuan to hire someone to knock Xiao Hong unconscious and bury her alive by throwing her into an abandoned well on a mountain in the neighboring county. In the early hours of February 10th, the pursuit team successfully captured the suspect Tu Gen with the cooperation of the local police. Subsequently, from the early morning to noon on February 10th, the police in Yixing, Jiangsu, and Huize, Yunnan successively captured the suspects A Zhen, Xiao Fei, and co-conspirator A Zhi. As a result, all five suspects involved in the case were arrested. In the afternoon of February 10th, according to the confession of A Chang, the Yixing police salvaged the body of the "missing" woman Xiao Hong from an abandoned well on a mountain in the neighboring county.
