On the morning of November 25, a student surnamed Zeng went to the Jiangxi Street in Yiwu to catch domestic rabbits at the Zongtang Fire Reservoir (3-Linked Reservoir). In the grass outside the Dongzheng Mountain Road on the east side of the reservoir, he discovered the body of a man. The police officers of the Criminal Investigation Team of the Yiwu Private Security Bureau conducted an investigation and found that the man had been dead for over a month. Due to the high degree of decomposition of the corpse, it was impossible to identify his identity. To further the investigation, the Yiwu police posted a reward announcement to gather clues.
The police quickly arrested Pei Jiankang and Wang Guanyun in Hangzhou and Yongxiang, Hebei. According to their confession, they were attracted by Chen's beauty and took advantage of her. They deceived Chen into going up the mountain and killed her before raping her. When they left, they brutally disfigured Chen's face. Later, fearing that the matter would be exposed, they conspired to kill A Kang, who knew some details, but failed due to various reasons.
It was learned that this case, due to its heinous nature, drew high attention from the police.
Upon investigation, the victim was identified as an 18-year-old boy named Xiao Mou from Zhang County, Gansu Province. The police then located the victim's boyfriend, A Kang. A Kang stated that on October 23, Chen had played cards with two friends, Pei Jiankang and Wang Guanyun. "The next day," he said, "they invited my friend and me to go up the mountain to pick oranges."
On December 14, a couple working in Yiwu came to the criminal investigation team and claimed that they recognized the jeans and sweater worn by the girl.
In order to identify the deceased, the police not only issued a reward announcement through the media but also distributed 30,000 flyers to gather clues, covering Yiwu and surrounding counties and cities.
Zhejiang Online reported on December 20th that the case has been successfully solved. The victim was an 18-year-old girl surnamed Chen from Gansu Province. The two suspects, Pei Jiankang and Wang Guanyun, have both been captured.
