The owner of the "Wo Cao Ma" (a slang phrase used humorously) has been found. Previously, it had been parked for nearly a year with only a 200 yuan fine.

Report by journalist Hejian Wang: Yesterday, our newspaper reported on a new BMW X1 that had been parked outside the west gate of CCTV for nearly a year before finally being towed away by the traffic police. Today, we learned that the BMW's owner has made contact with the authorities and will go to the traffic station to accept handling.

This morning, the traffic police at the Princess Tomb traffic station stated that the BMW owner has already contacted them. "We have asked the owner to come to the traffic station as soon as possible," but the police did not disclose the identity of the owner.

The traffic police explained that the BMW was illegally parked and did not have a license plate hung. However, the specific punishment would depend on understanding the actual situation when the owner arrives, before making a decision.

Upon checking the "Beijing Implementation Measures of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China", Article 95 Section 1 stipulates: Not hanging a motor vehicle license plate results in a 200 yuan fine and 6 demerit points. Article 99 Section 1 stipulates: Violating parking regulations results in a 200 yuan fine with no demerit points.

The traffic police stated that after the BMW owner accepts handling at the traffic station, they will be able to retrieve the vehicle from the enforcement station parking lot. Additionally, the owner does not need to pay any fees for yesterday's towing.

Event Recap:

A new BMW X1 worth close to 500,000 yuan was parked on the side of the road outside the west gate of CCTV for nearly a year. Some netizens joked that this car was given by a rich man to a CCTV host, but the host refused it, so the rich man abandoned the car on the roadside. However, this claim could not be verified.

Yesterday, after the traffic police from the Princess Tomb traffic team checked the situation, they called a tow truck to remove the BMW. According to the traffic police, the car had been reported long ago, but because it did not have a license plate, the traffic police were unable to contact the owner.
