At 10:30 PM, the reporter arrived at the scene of the incident. The reporter saw that a hot pot restaurant named "Chaozhou Beef Shop" had been cordoned off by the police with warning lines. A large glass window on the south side of the store was completely shattered, scattering broken glass all over the ground, and the inside of the store was also in disarray. Mr. Tian, the owner of a nearby food stall, informed the reporter that at around 9:00 PM, he suddenly heard a loud explosion with a slight tremor. "At the time, I saw a person in the kitchen of this store who was pinned under kitchenware, bleeding from the head. There was also someone injured outside, but it seemed that both of them were not seriously injured and could still walk on their own," Mr. Tian said. The explosion did not cause an open flame, and there weren't many customers in the store at the time. At around 11:00 PM, the police asked the staff to move a few tables placed on the road outside the store. The reporter saw that these tables for hot pot meals were equipped with gas supply pipes and stoves, with gas cylinders placed underneath the tables.

Last night and early this morning, at 0:20 AM on August 8, when the reporter left, Mr. Liang's surgery was still ongoing, and his group of friends were still waiting. (Informants Mr. Dong and Mr. Cui each received a third prize of 100 yuan.)

What caused the explosion? The boss of the hot pot store kept dodging the reporter's questions. According to a knowledgeable person, it was due to the gas supply pipe connected to the gas cylinder becoming loose, causing a gas leak that wasn't promptly detected, leading to the explosion.

Subsequently, the reporter went to the Tianhe District Red Cross Hospital where the two injured individuals were being treated. In the emergency observation room, a young man with his head wrapped in bandages was resting on the bed, his lips swollen and taped. The reporter learned that this injured individual was an employee of the hot pot store, surnamed Lin, with minor head injuries. At the time, in the hospital's surgical room, another injured individual was undergoing surgery. Outside the operating room, twenty or thirty friends of the injured person had come upon hearing the news, quietly waiting for the surgery to end. One friend of the injured person told the reporter that the injured person was surnamed Liang, 25 years old, and had not yet found work after graduation. "He happened to be eating there today, sitting outside the window, unfortunately getting injured," he revealed. Mr. Liang suffered from intracranial bleeding, temporarily without life-threatening danger, but required continued observation.
