When it comes to the funding gap, Bairedale frankly admitted that his nursing home was not official in nature and would not be imagined by everyone to have various government subsidies. The aid from well-meaning people in society still needed to be used for the children of the Hope Primary School and the village primary school. By the end of September this year, Bairedale had come up with the idea of selling Tibetan Mastiffs. As the weather was getting colder recently, he was going to turn his thoughts into action. In the eyes of the local people, "selling Tibetan Mastiffs is actually a very embarrassing thing. Because Tibetan Mastiffs are like family to us." Bairedale did not want to beg others for alms anymore, "because this is not my personality, and it is also difficult to ask for help."
On April 14, 2010, a 7.1-magnitude earthquake occurred in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. In the strong earthquake, almost all the civilian houses around collapsed. The three-story Haided Children's Welfare Home, except for being cracked by the collapsed house, none of the 105 children who were scared to cry were injured. This welfare home has since been called the "toughest welfare home" ever.
In fact, the construction of the toughest welfare home at that time cost nearly 1.6 million yuan, of which a boss of an enterprise in Guangzhou sponsored 1.1 million yuan, and he solved part of the problem through soliciting donations everywhere.
After the earthquake, although the house did not collapse, the adjacent buildings collapsed and damaged the walls on the back side of the welfare home. This building has become a dangerous building and cannot continue to be used. With the help of all sectors, the children began to study and live in the board houses, and Bairedale assured the children more than once, "As long as I am here, I will fix it bit by bit and build a better welfare home for you."
He wanted to help these children by every means possible and eventually built two Hope Primary Schools and two village primary schools. Including the students of the welfare home, there are nearly a thousand people.
This seemingly simple promise has now become a "stone" in Bairedale's chest, making him restless day and night.
On December 4, when the news that "Bairedale was coming to Anhui to sell Tibetan Mastiffs" came out, it quickly attracted the attention of many netizens. While everyone expressed support for his actions, many also raised such questions: Is the welfare home not supported by the government and society? Why do we have to do this?
Why does he choose to come to Anhui instead of nearby places to sell his beloved Tibetan Mastiffs?

If the money is not enough, it means the project cannot be guaranteed; if it cannot be completed smoothly, the children must continue to live and study in tents and board houses. This made Bairedale extremely anxious. After much thought, Bairedale made a decision, "I'm going to Anhui, bringing two Tibetan Mastiffs I personally fed, to sell them to capable and kind-hearted people."
Tibetan Mastiffs are not ordinary pets. They are tall and fierce and must be kept in professional breeding places. Before selling them, Bai Ruida brought the Tibetan Mastiffs to Hefei. How to arrange them before they are sold is also the most headache-inducing problem for him now. "As long as I can confirm a place to settle down in Anhui, I will go immediately." On the morning of December 5, Bai Ruida had already brought the two Tibetan Mastiffs to Xining when he was interviewed by reporters.
To help these children, he tried every means and finally built two Hope Primary Schools, two village primary schools, and together with the students of the welfare home, there are nearly a thousand people.
This seemingly simple promise has now become a "stone" on Bai Ruida's chest, making him sleepless and restless.

"At that time, I considered it should last for several decades!" He personally supervised the work, often "interfering" with everything. His strictness finally paid off in that earthquake.
In the matter of rebuilding the welfare home, Bai Ruida has always been unable to feel at ease. "The initial payment of 1.58 million yuan has already been paid to the construction team. These funds come from a charity organization in Shandong and a company in Beijing. A boss in Guangzhou promised to donate 2 million yuan." If this amount can ultimately be received, Bai Ruida still needs to raise 2 million yuan himself, which is no small sum.
"Each one is worth one million yuan, hoping capable and kind-hearted people can help." Bai Ruida hopes to quickly gather funds and take advantage of the cheapest building materials in winter to prepare the construction materials and save costs. After the welfare home is built, the accounts will be disclosed to the public and subject to supervision.
When asked why he has persisted in doing this, Bai Ruida sincerely said that due to financial difficulties, after the earthquake until now, the welfare home has been using mobile board houses and tents. It is very cold in winter, and there is also the danger of fire, making the conditions very tough. Seeing the children living like this, he feels very heartbroken.
"I promised the children that as long as I am here, I will build a better welfare home for them." This seemingly simple promise has made Bai Ruida, aged 34, worried for over a year.
"Preparing to go to Anhui is because I have a connection with Anhui." Bai Ruida introduced that after the Yushu earthquake, his welfare home received a lot of help from enthusiastic people in Anhui. One company in Anhui even donated 500,000 yuan to help the children build activity board houses. In February this year, he even brought several children to Anhui to thank the good-hearted people.
"Through my efforts to help more children, seeing their smiles is my sense of achievement."
"How to let more children leave the grasslands and see the outside world? Teachers also teach us that when we have the ability, we should do more for the education of our hometown," Bai Ruida said.
Selling Tibetan Mastiffs is a very embarrassing thing
After the Yushu earthquake, more disadvantaged families hoped to send their children to Bai Ruida's welfare home. However, since the welfare home was originally built according to the scale of 100 people, including the standard of meals, adding one more person meant that everyone might not have enough to eat. Looking at the children who couldn't come to the welfare home, Bai Ruida has always felt very distressed.
Now, the "toughest welfare home" has started demolition in September this year and the foundation has been relaid. It is planned to start construction in April next spring and allow the children to move into the building by October. Bai Ruida has already planned to rebuild a larger welfare home on the original site, so that more children in need can live there and enjoy the beautiful childhood they deserve.
