In recent period, three incidents happened in Hebron province of Palestine where the thief returned the stolen property to the owner along with a repentance letter voluntarily after the theft. In one case, the thief returned half a kilogram of gold to the owner. On the 26th, the Palestinian General Police said that they received a report from a company in Hebron that a laptop was stolen. Zhang and Chen immediately rushed to the scene. The police then filed an investigation. But the next day, this enterprise informed the police that the stolen laptop "appeared" in front of the office building of the company with a note attached which read: "Please forgive me." The police said that this was the third similar case occurred recently in Hebron province. A resident of Hebron reported last month that half a kilogram of gold and other properties were stolen. After the police examined the scene and extracted the fingerprints of the suspect, unexpectedly, the next day, the victim found the stolen goods and a repentance letter at his doorstep. In the letter, it wrote: "Whoever does good deeds will feel at ease, please forgive us." The police believed that the voluntary return of stolen property should be due to the thief's conscience discovery. In a statement, the police advised Palestinians to abide by laws and not to have evil intentions when seeing others' property. (Xinhua News Agency)
