The Establishment of the National Metrology Technical Committee for Standard Materials
The establishment conference of the National Metrology Technical Committee for Standard Materials was recently held in Yanji City, Jilin Province. The Secretariat of the committee is attached to the China National Institute of Metrology (CNIM), and Yu Yadong, the Party Secretary of CNIM, serves as the Director of the Committee.
According to available information, the National Metrology Technical Committee for Standard Materials was approved and established by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ). Currently, it consists of 21 members. The committee has gathered experts from metrology and various industry fields who are engaged in the research, production, management, and application of standard materials. Its main responsibilities include: being in charge of formulating, revising, and promoting national metrological technical regulations within the professional field of standard materials, as well as managing related value comparisons.
During this establishment conference, there were also organized activities including an introduction to the overall situation of relevant international guidelines by the International Organization for Standardization's (ISO) Standard Materials Committee, an introduction to the 2010-2011 regulation formulation and revision plan of the committee and discussions on future technical work ideas, and training sessions on the promotion of "Evaluation and Expression of Measurement Uncertainty."
