With the tightening of Canadian skilled immigration and the closure of Quebec's investment immigration program, studying in Quebec and applying for experience-based immigration have become the first choice for international students. Students majoring in French can automatically obtain a 3-year work visa upon graduation from a Quebec institution. After working for one year, they can apply for permanent residency.

The minimum requirements for experience-based immigration are as follows:

1. Legal resident status at the time of application.

2. Completion of at least two academic years of formal education in Canada (each academic year requires 8 months of study). This includes public institutions or private institutions authorized by the provincial government to issue degrees. The educational program must last at least two years (or a one-year graduate degree or diploma course, provided that the applicant has previously completed at least two years of post-secondary education in Canada).

3. One year of professional or technical work experience. The work experience must be in an occupation classified as skill level 0, A, or B. After graduation, applicants can apply for a 3-year work permit and need only one year of relevant work experience within the 3-year period to qualify for immigration. However, this work experience must have been obtained within the last two years prior to the application.

4. Basic or intermediate language proficiency (depending on the type of occupation). If the occupation is classified as skill level B, the applicant needs to demonstrate basic language proficiency.

According to Canadian master’s degree experts, the employment rate for graduates with co-op programs is as high as 95%. Generally, students work 40 hours per week. Recommended universities include the Organizational Management program at Université du Québec, which offers students a six-month paid internship opportunity. According to official information from Université du Québec, the university has maintained a 95% employment rate for five consecutive years. Students can gain knowledge, Canadian work experience, earn tuition fees ($15 CAD per hour), and potentially be directly hired by companies after graduation. This is truly a four-in-one benefit, where graduating equals employment. Upon graduation, students receive a three-year work visa, and after one year of work, they become eligible to apply for permanent residency. The application process can be completed in as little as two months.
