Swans are winter-resident birds that prefer to live in groups around lakes and marshes, primarily feeding on aquatic animals. Every March or April, they migrate in large flocks from the south to the north, laying eggs and reproducing in the northern border provinces of our country. Female swans lay two or three eggs each year in May, then incubate them while the male swan guards nearby without ever leaving. By October, they will migrate south in groups. They spend the winter in warmer southern areas, resting and recuperating.
At the foot of the magnificent Tianshan Mountains in our country, there is a tranquil lake called Swan Lake. Every summer and autumn, tens of thousands of swans swim on the emerald green waters here, just like clouds dancing in the blue sky, extremely beautiful.
Living habits of swans: Swans maintain a rare "lifetime partner system." During the winter in the south, whether feeding or resting, they are always in pairs. When the female swan lays eggs, the male swan stands guard nearby. In case of danger, it bravely fights against the enemy by flapping its wings and engaging in combat. They not only help each other during the breeding season but also stay together at other times. If one dies, the other can remain "faithful" to it, living alone for the rest of its life.
