According to reports on March 5th, Beijing Time by Sina Technology, at a meeting of the Presidium of the Regional Parliament in Ulyanovsk regarding the development of innovative transport vehicles, LocomoSki Company presented Russian President Dmitry Medvedev with the development plan for the aerostatic aircraft "Locomoskyn" capable of transporting 600 tons of cargo.
The project leader introduced that the Locomoskyn aircraft with a carrying capacity of 600 tons costs about $120 million, equivalent to the price of an An-124-100 heavy transport aircraft. However, its cargo capacity is four times that of the heavy An-124-100 type transport aircraft. Additionally, the Locomoskyn aircraft can hover, rotate, perform vertical take-offs and landings, fly in a straight line at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, and does not require ground facilities to assist in landing.
Experts generally believe that this heavy-duty cargo aircraft will be widely welcomed in Russia's industrial sectors. It is also one of the significant steps in reducing transportation and construction costs in economically underdeveloped regions rich in oil and natural gas resources. Sergei Morozov, the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region, stated that the aerostatic aircraft of LocomoSki Company would be produced in the industrial zone "Zavolzhi."
When discussing the practicality of the Locomoskyn aircraft, Morozov proposed the idea of establishing a transport spaceship business park in Russia. This proposal received support from Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, and relevant regulations were signed on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Aerogeophysical Exploration Type
The Locomoskayn aircraft can be used for aerogeophysical exploration with a load capacity of up to 1000 kilograms. Operated by ground-based crew members, the team consists of two to eight people. The aerostatic aerogeophysical environment allows the Locomoskayn aircraft to utilize advanced gravimetric and electromagnetic equipment for aerogeophysical exploration of the Earth's interior and continental shelves. Using such Locomoskayn aircraft can increase the accuracy of aerogeophysical data several times over while reducing costs to half or a quarter of the original cost.
Freight and Passenger-Freight Dual-Use Platform Type
Locomoskayn aircraft with carrying capacities of 40 tons, 60 tons, 120 tons, 240 tons, and 600 tons can effectively solve the problem of delivering large quantities of oversized goods to remote and hard-to-reach areas without requiring assistance from ground infrastructure. They can land on open terrain without using winches or other equipment. Due to the diversity of current cargo container standards, Locomoskayn aircraft can deliver goods directly onto railway platforms, road trailers, and barges.
Through packaging and utilizing transmission devices, Locomoskayn aircraft can also handle modular equipment (such as production modules, household components, drilling rigs, excavators, etc.) and processed machinery and liquid products, such as coal, refined oil, methanol, etc. A Locomoskayn aircraft with a carrying capacity of 600 tons has freight capabilities equivalent to an entire train. However, unlike trains, the Locomoskayn aircraft can carry oversized goods and can be modified into passenger-freight dual-use tools, capable of transporting 270 to 11,000 people in one trip, including evacuating people from disaster-stricken areas.
Monitoring Type
Locomoskayn aircraft with carrying capacities of 0.5 to 1.5 tons can be used for monitoring. This type of Locomoskayn aircraft can be controlled by one person and can automatically patrol along designated routes. It can monitor the status of target areas using scanning equipment (including infrared and ultrasound modes), such as power transmission networks, pipelines for natural gas, oil, and other products, industrial zones, and special targets.
