An optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty, while a pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. A father wanted to "reform the character" of his twin sons because one was overly optimistic and the other overly pessimistic. One day, he bought many brightly colored new toys for the pessimistic child and sent the optimistic child into a garage piled high with horse manure. The next morning, the father saw the pessimistic child crying bitterly and asked, "Why don't you play with those toys?" "If I play with them, they will break!" the child continued to cry. The father sighed and walked into the garage, only to find the optimistic child enthusiastically digging through the horse manure. "Dad," the child proudly proclaimed to his father, "I think there must be a little pony hidden in this pile of horse manure!"
Warm reminder: The difference between an optimist and a pessimist is quite interesting - an optimist sees a doughnut, while a pessimist sees a hole.
