The Spring Festival has always been the golden season for beauty seekers. During this time, many people take the opportunity to "renovate" their bodies, keeping cosmetic and plastic surgery hospitals busy all the time.

The head of a plastic surgery hospital told reporters that the main reason might be that the long holiday during the Spring Festival has sparked a wave of cosmetic and plastic surgery enthusiasm. The winter and spring seasons are more suitable for major plastic surgeries such as breast augmentation and liposuction, because there is enough time for rest and recovery after the operation, leading to relatively ideal results.

Since the outbreak of the economic crisis, the global economy has been greatly affected. So why have the outpatient numbers at many plastic surgery hospitals in Shanghai not decreased but increased instead? For this, reporters learned from the Ninth People's Hospital and the Time Plastic Surgery Hospital that starting from November 2008, the number of people coming for plastic surgery significantly increased. Preliminary statistics show that the number increased by 15% to 25% compared to the previous month, and increased by 32% compared to the same period last year. Among them, women still make up the majority, aged between 25 and 45 years old, with projects mainly focusing on facial shaping, liposuction, breast augmentation to reshape curves, rhinoplasty, double eyelid surgery, OPT, laser mole removal, freckle removal, and skin beauty treatments.

Recently, six women from Shanxi came together to a plastic surgery hospital in Shanghai. After undergoing various plastic surgeries and skin care treatments including OPT, radiofrequency facelift, breast augmentation, liposuction, and full dental care, they left Shanghai. One of them spent over 90,000 yuan on the day, while the total expenditure of the six people was more than 300,000 yuan RMB.
