The predicament is a gift - an obstacle, a reading table, is a new known condition. Any obstacle can be an opportunity for self-transcendence if one is willing. One day, the lion, known as the king of the forest, came before the god: "I thank you for giving me such a strong and mighty body and such powerful strength that I have enough ability to rule this entire forest."
The god listened and smiled, asking: "But this isn't the reason you came to see me today, right? It seems like you're troubled by something!"
The lion roared softly and said: "God truly understands me! I indeed have a request today. Even though my abilities are good, every morning when the rooster crows, I am always startled awake by its crowing. God! I beg of you, please grant me another power so that I am no longer startled awake by the rooster's crow!"
The god laughed and said: "Go find the elephant, it will give you a satisfactory answer."
The lion rushed excitedly to the lake to find the elephant. Before even seeing the elephant, he heard the "bang bang" sound made by the elephant stomping its feet.
The lion quickly ran towards the elephant and saw the elephant angrily stomping its feet.
The lion asked the elephant: "Why are you so angry?"
The elephant frantically shook its big ears and roared: "There's a very annoying mosquito that keeps trying to drill into my ears, making me almost itch to death."
The lion left the elephant, thinking to itself: "It turns out that despite its huge size, the elephant still fears such a small mosquito. What do I have to complain about then? After all, the rooster only crows once a day, while mosquitoes harass the elephant constantly. Thinking about it this way, I am much luckier than him."
As the lion walked, it looked back at the elephant still stomping its feet and thought: "God wanted me to check on the elephant's situation, probably to tell me that everyone encounters troubles, and it cannot help everyone. If so, then I can only rely on myself! Anyway, from now on, whenever the rooster crows, I'll just think it's reminding me that it's time to get up. In this sense, the rooster's crowing is actually beneficial to me."
Warm reminder: On the journey of life, no matter how smoothly we proceed, as soon as we encounter some setbacks, we habitually complain that heaven has been unfair to us, and thus pray for heaven to give us more strength to help us through difficulties. In reality, heaven is the fairest, just like it is to the lion and the elephant, each predicament has its positive value.
