BYD's pure electric vehicle, Hertz China E6 performance has once again been internationally recognized. This model will be introduced into the leasing business of multinational rental giant Hertz as it expands in China. It will become the first pure electric vehicle to enter operation in China's car rental industry. Yesterday, both parties signed a cooperation agreement at BYD Company. Hertz expressed that they are willing to work together with Chinese enterprises and government to enhance the position of new energy vehicles in China's automobile market. They believe that China will become a leader with great potential in the world transportation field.
The first batch of E6 vehicles will be available for rent at the Futian Transportation Hub after a few days of brief adjustment. The customer groups include urban residents, college students, travelers, various enterprises, and airport pick-up and drop-off services. Hertz President Taride said that they are happy to promote the popularization and application of new energy vehicles in Shenzhen. Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin are the other three pilot cities. Hertz China General Manager Hu Mao told reporters that a month ago, the first Hertz rental point in Shenzhen opened at the Futian Transportation Hub. The two E6 vehicles introduced yesterday will soon be available for lease after a few days of adjustment.
"The company's expanded battery production capacity has increased the output of new energy vehicles. Next year, the annual production of K9 can increase to 3,000 units, and E6 can reach a monthly production of 1,000 units. With the development of the market, it will open up new development space for BYD," said Wang Jie, General Manager of BYD Green Public Transport Department.
BYD stated that apart from the leasing business, the company is also accelerating the production and promotion of new energy vehicles in the public transportation and private car purchasing sectors. In the second half of this year, Pingshan East Bus Company will introduce another 200 BYD K9 buses. Within two months, E6 will be available for private sales, and it will be the optimized version E6 B, different from the currently available all-electric taxi E6 A.
