A long time ago, there was a big apple tree. A little boy liked to come and play here every day. He climbed up the apple tree to eat apples, took a nap in the shade of the tree. He loved that tree, and the tree also loved to play with him. Time passed, the little boy grew up gradually, and no longer came to play under the tree.
One day, the boy returned to the tree, looking sad. The tree said: "Let's play together!" The boy replied: "I am not a child anymore, I don't climb trees anymore. I want toys, I need money to buy toys." The tree said: "Sorry, I have no money... but you can pick my apples and sell them, so you will have money." The boy danced with joy, picked all the apples, and happily left.
After the boy picked the apples and left, he never came back, and the tree felt very sad.
One day, the boy returned, and the tree was overjoyed. The tree said: "Let's play together!" "I don't have time to play. I have to work to support my family, we need a house to live in. Can you help me?" "Sorry, I have no house, but you can cut down my branches to build a house." The boy cut down all the branches and happily left.
The tree was satisfied as it watched the boy's figure leaving, however, from then on, the boy never came back again. The tree became lonely and sad once more.
On a summer day, the boy returned, and the tree was extremely excited. The tree said: "Let's play together!" "I'm sad, I'm getting older. I want to go boating to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?" "Use my trunk to make a boat, you can happily row as far as you want." The boy sawed off the trunk and made a boat. He rowed away and didn't show up for a long time.
Finally, after many years, the boy returned again. The tree said: "Sorry, my child, unfortunately, I can't give you anything now. I have no apples for you to eat..." The boy replied: "I don't have teeth to bite anymore." "I have no branches for you to climb..." "I'm too old to climb anymore." "I really can't give you anything... all I have left are my old roots." The tree said tearfully. "I really need nothing more, just a place to rest is fine. After all these years, I'm too tired," the boy responded. "Alright, the old tree roots are the best place to rest. Come on, sit on me and rest," the boy sat down, and the tree was so happy that it shed tears...
This is our story. The tree is our parents.
When we were young, we liked to play with mom and dad... when we grow up, we leave them... we only return home when we need their help or encounter troubles. Whenever it is, parents always respond without hesitation, trying every way to make you happy.
You might think the boy was too heartless to the tree, but who among us doesn't treat our parents the same way?
Dad and Mom, I love you!
