Eggs from Hebei's Pingshan county bounce half a meter high when boiled, and are confirmed to be real eggs. Xinhua News Agency reports that eggs produced in Pingshan County, Hebei Province, have recently been involved in a controversy over "artificial eggs" in Leizhou City, Guangdong Province, and have been continuously exposed by the media. On February 10, the Quality and Metrology Supervision and Inspection Institute of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, issued a test report to journalists, showing that the sampled and tested samples were all real eggs, and no "artificial eggs" were found.

On February 7, it was disclosed by the media that there were suspected "artificial eggs" at Hongdu Grand Hotel in Leizhou City, Guangdong Province. The cooked egg yolk could not be smashed even when thrown hard on the floor and could "bounce" more than 40 centimeters high. Preliminary investigations suggested that the eggs might have come from Pingshan County, Hebei Province. Subsequently, this incident was continuously reported by the media.

The Quality and Metrology Supervision and Inspection Institute of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, conducted strict tests on the egg samples, including whether the nutrients contained in the eggs were within normal values, and whether there were components that might be present in fake eggs, such as artificially synthesized pigments like lemon yellow and sunset yellow.

Experts analyzed that under long-term low-temperature conditions or other environmental factors, the egg yolk and egg white may deteriorate and solidify, potentially gaining elasticity, and it is not ruled out that real eggs may undergo natural changes under special conditions.

This incident has drawn high attention from the Party Committee and Government of Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, and they have dispatched specialized personnel to Pingshan County for supervision. The Pingshan County Government immediately initiated the food safety emergency response plan and established a working group to investigate and verify the "artificial egg" issue. All towns and relevant departments implemented a "daily report" system, conducting seamless and grid-like inspections overnight on key areas and links within the entire county, especially small workshops and processing points, but no "artificial eggs" were found.

For updates on the development of the incident, journalists will continue to follow up.
