South China Morning Post (Reported by Fang Zhenbin, Intern Reporter Huang Shaohong) - At around 5:40 AM yesterday, a brutal murder case occurred at the home of Zhou, a security officer in Liuhexiang Village, Yisha Town, Shatian Town, Dongguan City. The incident resulted in two deaths and two serious injuries. Security officer Zhou and his eldest son were severely injured but have now been stabilized after hospitalization; however, his wife died on the scene, and his youngest son passed away in the hospital due to ineffective rescue attempts.

Yesterday afternoon, the Shatian police reported that this case was suspected to be a family tragedy triggered by marital conflicts. After the incident, the police immediately conducted an investigation and visited the scene. Upon understanding the deceased's family situation and workplace, it was found that there had been long-standing prominent contradictions between Mr. and Mrs. Zhou, leading to the preliminary suspicion that the case was a tragic result of a marital conflict.

However, a cousin of Zhou from the same village said that after the murder, the seriously injured Zhou mentioned, "A certain factory wanted to exterminate my entire family." He also revealed that five men in a minivan committed the crime and forcibly made him drink something. The reporter learned from the Taiping People's Hospital that during his emergency treatment, Zhou indeed showed signs of poisoning. Meanwhile, some informed sources claimed that Zhou cut his wife and children due to housing construction issues.

An elderly villager, Grandma Liang, told reporters that at around 5:00 AM on the day of the incident, she heard cries for help. When she stepped out of her house, about 100 meters away from hers, at Grandma Zhou’s doorstep, she saw two "blood-covered" individuals pounding on windows and shouting for help loudly.

Later, Grandma Liang identified these two as Zhou's sons, the elder being Zhou Jian and the younger Zhou Hui. "At that time, Jian was holding his younger brother Hui, knocking on Grandma Zhou’s window door and shouting for help," Grandma Liang said. She noticed Jian covering Hui's neck, but blood still gushed out from the younger brother's neck. His face turned purplish-black, and his eyes rolled back. Simultaneously, the elder brother Jian also had head injuries, and his back was covered with bloodstains. After pounding on the doors and windows, they collapsed onto a stone bench in front of Grandma Zhou’s house, and Hui even experienced several episodes of fainting.

At this point, neighbors who heard the cries for help gathered around. Some villagers called the police, while a few ran to the opposite side of Zhou's house to knock on the door, but after nearly a minute of knocking, there was no response inside. They decided to break in by force.

According to a cousin of Zhou from the same village, the neighbors borrowed a shovel from Grandma Liang's house to pry open the iron gate on the first floor of Zhou's house. One of the men who participated in the rescue effort found Zhou lying next to the second-floor window after entering the house. Subsequently, four men carried Zhou out of the house. According to Zhou's cousin, Zhou suffered a stab wound on his left chest and also had an injury on his right arm.

Mr. Liang, one of the rescuers, recounted that when they tried to break down the door to Zhou's second-floor room, they discovered someone inside forcefully pushing against the door, making it difficult to break through. After exerting significant force and finally breaking the door, they found Zhou sitting behind it, while Zhou's wife lay in bed, the sheets soaked in blood. "We were puzzled at that time why Zhou would block the door despite knowing we came to save him," Mr. Liang said.

It was understood that Zhou was a security personnel in Yisha Village, Shatian Town. His wife worked as a cleaner in a factory in the Shatian Environmental Protection City before her death. Their eldest son was unemployed at home, and the youngest son was in the first year of junior high school.
