Lanzhou, February 7 (Cui Lin and Zhang Tianbo) - In January of this year, a man surnamed He from Machuan Township in Zhenyuan County of Qingyang City, Gansu Province, brutally killed his wife Li after an argument. He also murdered their son and daughter. On February 7, the Zhenyuan County Public Security Bureau informed reporters that the case has been successfully solved, and the suspect He has been criminally detained.

At about 8 PM on January 21st, the Zhenyuan County Public Security Bureau received a report from villagers in Jingyuan Administrative Village of Machuan Township. The villager claimed that fellow villager He had killed his wife Li, their 6-year-old son, and their 2-year-old daughter. An investigation was subsequently launched.

After police investigation, the details of the case came to light: Around 7 PM on the night of the incident, suspect He had an argument with his wife Li while returning from his father-in-law's home in Wugou Township, Zhenyuan County. In a fit of rage, He pushed his wife Li into a 10-meter-deep ravine. He then took a shortcut down to the bottom of the ravine to check on her condition. When he found that his wife who had fallen off the cliff was not dead, he strangled her to death with his bare hands.

After committing this brutal crime, He showed no remorse and did not inform his parents about killing his wife. Instead, he lied to them, saying that his in-laws were sick and wanted to see their two grandchildren. He then took his own children to a cornfield and strangled them to death. Afterwards, He attempted suicide but failed.

Currently, suspect He has been criminally detained by the Zhenyuan County Public Security Bureau, and the case is under further review.
