At the Capital Airport, photos were taken of the puppy being placed in an airline-approved crate for checked baggage (in the left and upper-right images). The photo of the puppy "Ge Ge" not being placed in a crate is shown in the lower-right image. According to the Morning Post (reported by Yan Fei), there has been recent progress regarding the incident involving the pet dog Ge Ge that was beaten to death at Haikou Meilan Airport which previously drew widespread public attention. Yesterday afternoon, Ge Ge's owner had already entrusted lawyer Zhang Qi Huai to submit a complaint to the Chaoyang Court, demanding compensation of 37,976 yuan from Hainan Airlines. As of now, the court has not officially registered the case. In her lawsuit, Ms. Ni, Ge Ge’s owner, stated that she entered into a pet transportation contract with Hainan Airlines on January 2nd this year. The contract stipulated that Ms. Ni would pay 136 yuan to the airline, and the airline would transport Ge Ge to Haikou Meilan Airport. However, later that afternoon, the incident occurred where Ge Ge was killed at Meilan Airport. Ms. Ni claimed that the defendant stated Ge Ge was already dead, and she could only retrieve the cage used for transporting it. When she inquired about the reason for Ge Ge being killed, the other party gave various excuses and claimed that they killed Ge Ge according to relevant industry regulations and laws, therefore bearing no responsibility. Ms. Ni believes that the defendant violated the basic obligations agreed upon in the transportation contract signed with her, constituting a fundamental breach of the contract, causing her significant losses. Therefore, the defendant should bear liability for breach of contract. According to the statement released by Meilan Airport: The puppy's plastic packaging box was tightly packed. After long-distance transportation, the cage door became deformed and loose, allowing the pet dog to escape on its own, rather than being deliberately released by someone. On-site staff failed to successfully capture the dog after surrounding and attempting to catch it. The pet dog crossed the taxiway and entered a location approximately 100 meters from the runway, while one flight was set to land within one minute and two flights were taxiing in preparation for takeoff. Out of safety considerations, the staff initiated the emergency response plan for animal intrusion and killed the dog. Ms. Ni mentioned that Hainan Airlines personnel showed her a video clip lasting several seconds. The video displayed a worker placing an airline-approved crate on a conveyor belt. "It took just a second before the puppy came out on its own." Subsequently, three workers chased the dog inside the warehouse. Ms. Ni said that the video did not indicate the shooting time nor show the process of the dog running onto the runway. Hainan Airlines staff told her, "There is no surveillance on the runway," and that the dog was hit in the head with an imported shotgun with a range of 50 to 100 meters, and "only one shot was fired, with bullet documentation available." However, she questions how the crate opened and whether the claim of "one shot killing" is true. "Even if the dog really escaped on its own, it must have gone outside through the push door. But we found that the door was open inwardly, and the strap was intact." Share via: Welcome to leave comments! I want to comment! Weibo Recommendation | Today's Hot Topics on Weibo (Editor: SN021)
