In 2005, a hurricane swept through Sweden, destroying forests and threatening the livelihoods of local lumberjacks. Many trees that were knocked down by the hurricane couldn't be salvaged and were left to rot where they fell. Designer Eveline Johansson used these fallen trees to design a chair that requires no screws or glue, naming it after her father as "Roger Sven Jorgen." Her father had fought against large companies that sought to profit excessively from the hurricane, and she designed this chair to fulfill her father's unfulfilled wish.
