The husband, Van Cleef, is 29 years old and 2.13 meters tall, while his wife, Bolton, is 31 years old and 1.96 meters tall. Together they measure 4.09 meters, making them one of the tallest couples in the UK.
Living in Dagenham, Essex, the couple, Welko Van Cleef and Kiesha Bolton, are indeed a pair of "giants." The 29-year-old Van Cleef stands at 2.13 meters, and his 31-year-old wife Bolton is 1.96 meters tall. Together, their height adds up to 4.09 meters, earning them the title of the tallest couple in Britain.
Van Cleef was born in the Netherlands and later moved to the UK. By the age of 10, he had already grown to nearly 1.78 meters. Two years later, to prevent damage to his knee joints from excessive weight, he began receiving hormone injections to control his growth, stopping only at 16 when he stopped growing.
Bolton recalls being teased by classmates during school for being too tall. After turning 18, she never wore high heels again.
Van Cleef and Bolton met through the British "Tall Persons Club." Both were passionate about dancing, and Bolton was eager to find a dance partner of suitable height, so she sought help from the club.
When Van Cleef responded, he asked, "I'm 2.13 meters tall, am I tall enough?"
After meeting, the two fell in love and got married in 2001.
**Renovating Their Home Before Marriage**
The first challenge this couple faced after marriage was renovating their home. To avoid hitting their heads on the doorframes, they had them raised and also modified the kitchen countertops.
However, due to space limitations in the bedroom, they still use a standard-sized double bed. Photos published by the *Daily Mail* on the 5th show that when sleeping, both of their feet hang off the edge of the bed.
Bolton said, despite her body size being standard, "Finding clothes that fit is a nightmare. Regular women's dresses look like shirts on me; they're just too short." During pregnancy, because she couldn't find maternity clothes in her size, she had to wear men's clothing.
Van Cleef wears U.S. size 15 shoes. He either has them custom-made or buys them from specialized websites frequented by American basketball players. His work uniforms also need to be custom-made.
**Height Advantage in Daily Life**
Of course, their height provides advantages in daily life as well. "When reaching for items on high shelves, I never need a ladder," Bolton said.
Van Cleef now works as a security guard at Barking College locally. He says his height and weight of nearly 117.5 kilograms helped him secure this job. "My size means that when two students fight, I can easily separate them."
Van Cleef and Bolton have a son and a daughter. Their son Lucas is 4 years old and stands at 1.19 meters, equivalent to the average height of a 7-year-old child. Their daughter Eva, though only 2 years old, is already 0.91 meters tall, equivalent to the average height of a 3-year-old child.
