My video appeal and Hunan TV station report:
I am a consumer of LG air conditioners. Among the five LG air conditioners I purchased from Suning, four were found to be defective before even being used. Problems included excessive noise, compressor overheating protection, and non-rotating fans. My request for a refund was passed back and forth between Suning and LG. In light of the recent exposure of the LG air conditioner refurbishment scandal, I suspect that there might be quality issues with either refurbished or newly produced LG air conditioners, especially regarding noise. Many internet users have reported that their purchased LG air conditioners produce significant noise. I work at the Environmental Protection Bureau and have some knowledge about noise-related issues. Now, I have already reported this matter to the Hunan Provincial Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau. The bureau's investigation team has sealed the five problematic LG air conditioners I purchased, preparing to entrust a legal inspection unit to test them, in order to determine if these LG air conditioners are refurbished, if they have quality problems, and if the noise exceeds national standards.
I call on all consumers of LG air conditioners across the country to pay attention to this incident. If your purchased LG air conditioner has any of the aforementioned problems, please contact me. If the test results show that the LG air conditioners are refurbished or do not meet quality standards, I will represent all consumers of problematic LG air conditioners to file a lawsuit, demanding that LG Electronics provide a satisfactory response to Chinese consumers, recall the substandard LG air conditioners sold in China, and compensate for the economic losses incurred by the consumers.
The TOM website gave me a title: "China's Bravest Consumer." Personally, I feel I don't deserve it; I'm just doing my part for consumer rights protection. But I will not let everyone down. Regardless of whatever pressure or temptation I face, I will persistently continue to fight for consumer rights until the truth is uncovered - whether LG has quality issues or not! And should they recall the products or not!
