"Grandma, I've slipped in." The head of the grandson in the bathroom was actually stuck in the toilet and couldn't move.
Last night, in the Yinhai Yayuan residential area beside the Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center, a 5-year-old child got his head stuck in the toilet while using the restroom. After firefighters arrived, they sawed open the toilet seat and rescued the child in just 6 minutes.
"Grandma, I've slipped in." At 8:20 PM yesterday, Grandma Wang was still in the living room finishing her medicine when her little grandson, Houhou, called out from the bathroom. When she went in to check, she found her grandson's head stuck in the toilet and unable to move. Unable to help, the police officers from the Chun Cheng Road Police Station sought assistance from the fire department.
"Don't worry, listen to uncle, close your eyes, you'll be out soon," said Grandma Wang as she held her grandson Houhou upon seeing the firefighters arrive. At 8:50 PM, six firefighters from the Guandu No. 2 Fire Brigade of the Kunming Public Security Fire Department rushed to the scene.
At that time, Houhou's head was firmly stuck in the toilet seat, with his whole body leaning on the toilet unable to move. An anxious Grandma Wang used both hands to support her grandson's body. To avoid causing him too much pain, she placed a pillow under his head.
After entering the bathroom, one firefighter supported the child’s body while another attempted to unscrew the bolts on the toilet seat and shift it to free the child. "Head down, turn a bit," "Still can't get out." In ten minutes, no matter how they moved, the child's ears could come out but his forehead was still stuck inside the toilet seat.
Seeing this method was ineffective, the firefighters decided to cut through the toilet seat with a hacksaw.
"Little buddy, close your eyes." At 9:00 PM, the firefighter began sawing the toilet seat.
After taking out the hacksaw, Grandma Wang comforted Houhou saying, "This thing is broken, we don't need it anymore."
Houhou anxiously asked, "I'm scared, will it hurt me?"
"No, close your eyes, you'll be out soon," the nearby firefighter reassured him.
The entire bathroom suddenly became quiet, only the sound of "squeak, squeak" could be heard. After 6 minutes, the plastic toilet seat was sawed through. One firefighter carefully held Houhou's head and helped him withdraw from the loosened toilet seat.
"He's out!" Seeing her grandson emerge unscathed from the toilet seat, Grandma Wang was so moved she nearly cried.
After being saved, the child refused to explain the reason for getting stuck. Grandma Wang said there were two toilet seats on the toilet, the upper one for children and the lower one for adults. It was likely that after sitting on the adult toilet seat, the child leaned back and his head slipped into the idle toilet seat.
"Hold it, hold it, we owe it all to you today," Houhou's grandfather handed a pack of Yunyan cigarettes to the firefighters, but they declined. After successfully rescuing the child, the firefighters quickly left the scene.
