TaylorMade Golf is preparing to launch a new iron line called Tour Preferred, which consists of three different sets of irons. The MB, MC, and CB irons are each designed for different skill levels and offer distinct characteristics in terms of performance and forgiveness. Here, we will primarily focus on the MC irons.
The MC Forged LINE begins with an exclusive 6-step forging process, producing a more precisely shaped and finished head that looks and performs beautifully. The sole is moderately to narrowly thick and less cambered, preventing deep digging. The leading edge features minimal heel-to-toe radius with the ideal amount of camber to cut cleanly and precisely into the turf with little to no resistance.
The TaylorMade Tour Preferred MC Forged Irons (MC stands for Muscle Cavity) are made from 1025 carbon steel and have a slightly smaller head and less offset than the TP CB irons. Similar to the TP CB irons, the weight screw is placed in a carbon composite badge to dampen the impact sound and enhance feel.
Features
The shallow cavity delivers the feel and workability of a forging plus a degree of added stability. Advanced groove design promotes more spin and control from the rough. Precision Weighting Port ensures consistent swingweight throughout the set while ensuring optimal CG location in every clubhead.
"We worked obsessively with our Tour Staff to shape the Tour Preferred MC irons into something that looks perfect to the better player’s eye, while at the same time incorporating feel, workability and stability." - Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade Project Leader - Irons Product Creation.
