Pig Farm Owner Makes 3.3 Million Yuan Profit from "Lean Meat Powder"
Reported by this newspaper (by reporter Hu Li, correspondent Cui Jiefeng): Recently, Zhen, a graduate of a prestigious university, was arrested by the Panyu District People's Procuratorate of Guangzhou on suspicion of producing and selling toxic and harmful food. Previously, he added "lean meat powder" to the pig feed he used.
Prosecutors said that after graduating from a prestigious university, Zhen opened a relatively large-scale pig farm in Shiji, Panyu. However, in order to save costs, accelerate the growth of pigs, and increase the lean meat content of the pork, he added about 400 kilograms of "lean meat powder" to the feed.
After adding the "lean meat powder", the pig farm sold an average batch of pigs every month, with each batch consisting of about 500 to 600 pigs. These pigs were sold to places such as Dongguan and Zhongshan. He cumulatively sold 3,000 "problematic" pigs, earning a total of 3.3 million yuan.
