Since it was not determined whether there were explosives or not, the police set up a police cordon first.

There were four bundles of pipe-like suspected bomb items in the luggage

The police checked the suspicious luggage wearing thick bomb disposal suits

According to the news report by Yao Zhuowen and correspondent Gongxuan: The Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau News Office reported to the media yesterday that at around 10 o'clock in the morning, the Guangzhou police received a report that a woman came to a freight market on Zhanqian Road to consign luggage. The security personnel of the freight market found suspicious flammable and explosive items in a handbag of the consigned luggage, and immediately reported it to the police. After receiving the report, the police attached great importance to it, quickly dispatched police forces from public security, criminal investigation, police station, etc. to the scene, promptly evacuated the surrounding crowd, and controlled the woman. At the same time, they immediately organized bomb disposal police to check and deal with the suspicious items.

After inspection, the police did not find any flammable or explosive items in the items consigned by the woman. Currently, the police are further investigating the incident.

According to the news report by Yao Zhuowen: At 10:10 am yesterday, a woman came to the Platington Freight Yard on Zhanqian Road and said she wanted to send "holy water". The staff of the freight yard found bomb-like items in the bag during the inspection, so they called 110 to report it. After more than an hour of inspection by bomb disposal police, it turned out to be a false alarm.

The woman left after seeing the inspection

At 10:10 am, a woman came to the door of stall A17 at the Platington Freight Yard on Zhanqian Road. "She was wearing black clothes and a black headscarf, and looked about 40 years old," Mr. Qi, the supervisor, described her. She spoke Mandarin with a strong local accent and said she wanted to send "holy water" elsewhere, then handed over the brown luggage bag she was carrying.

Mr. Qi opened the bag for inspection according to the rules, "I opened the luggage bag and saw about four bundles of pipe-like suspected bomb items inside." Mr. Qi said that the woman immediately grabbed the luggage bag being inspected and turned around to leave the freight yard.

"At that moment, I realized the seriousness of the situation, so I called two employees of the freight yard to keep her steady." Mr. Qi said calmly, he immediately arranged for two employees to intercept the woman not far from the stall.

Requested to make a call to Shenzhen

Old Huang is one of the freight yard employees who intercepted the woman. He told the reporter that after the woman was intercepted, she tried to put down the luggage bag and leave alone but failed. "When we intercepted the woman, she also requested to borrow our mobile phone to make a call to Shenzhen, but we refused her request." Old Huang indicated that while he and another colleague kept the woman steady, Supervisor Qi called 110 to report the incident. Around 10:30 am, the police who rushed to the scene took the woman away for investigation.

After the woman was taken away, the luggage bag she left still lay about 5 meters in front of stall A17. Since it was uncertain whether the luggage bag contained explosives or not, the police were very cautious and first set up a police cordon around the Platington Freight Yard, not allowing citizens to approach the suspicious object casually. Subsequently, bomb disposal police were sent to the scene for support. According to Miss Liang, a witness, the atmosphere at the freight yard was very tense at the time, and the bomb disposal police slowly approached the luggage bag wearing steel helmets and thick bomb disposal suits. After more than an hour of inspection, the luggage bag was placed into the bomb disposal container and left the scene at 1 pm yesterday.

According to the police report, the police did not find any flammable or explosive items in the items consigned by the woman, confirming that it was just a false alarm. Currently, the police are further investigating the incident.
