China Radio International, Nanning, August 27th (reported by Fa Ding Liu and Lei Zhang) - As of today, it has been nearly a month since the "internet-addicted teenager" Sen-shan Deng was beaten to death. Recently, under the mediation of the Jiangnan District government in Nanning, the victim's family and relevant parties responsible have reached an agreement for compensation and subsidies totaling 1,045,000 yuan.
The Guangdong Panyu Motivational Sports Planning Service Department (Nanning Start-off Camp) will compensate the victim's family with 500,000 yuan RMB, while the Guangxi Electronics Technical Secondary School, which co-sponsored the camp, paid a subsidy of 400,000 yuan.
In addition, the expenses for food and lodging for the victim's family during their stay in Yong amounted to about 180,000 yuan (not included in the total 1,045,000 yuan), all of which were paid by the Jiangnan District government.
At around 1:00 PM on August 1st, 2009, the "internet-addicted teenager" Sen-shan Deng entered the "Nanning Start-off Rescue Training Camp" to quit his internet addiction, but mysteriously died more than 10 hours later. Later, the forensic examination confirmed that the child had indeed been beaten to death.
