A man held a fake gun and kidnapped a network administrator from an internet cafe in Guiyang's Meikuang village, demanding a ransom of 100,000 yuan from the administrator’s family. However, as they were unable to pay, the man resorted to robbing the administrator of his personal belongings instead. After being released, the administrator immediately reported the incident to the police. In the early hours of yesterday morning, officers from the Qianling East Road Police Station apprehended the suspect.

At around 3:00 AM on October 7, the Qianling East Road Police Station received a report from Li Mou, a network administrator at an internet cafe in Meikuang village, stating that he had been kidnapped at gunpoint and that the perpetrator had demanded a ransom of 100,000 yuan from his family. Upon questioning, the police learned that more than ten days ago, a man who claimed to be named Zhang Mou had come to the internet cafe where Li worked to surf the web. Over time, the two became acquainted, during which Li had mentioned to Zhang that he wanted to change jobs. At that time, Zhang said he would help Li out.

On the evening of October 6, Zhang came to the internet cafe and told Li that he had found him a job, taking Li to his rented apartment in Dongshan Watermelon Village. As soon as Li entered the apartment, Zhang pulled out a handgun and pressed it against Li's head, then tied Li to a chair with rope and duct tape. Zhang then took Li's phone and called Li's father, saying that Li was in his possession and demanding 100,000 yuan in cash. Unexpectedly, upon receiving the call, Li's father replied that he didn't have a single penny.

Seeing that his goal was unattainable, Zhang simply robbed Li of 500 yuan in cash and his ID card, then untied Li and took him to eat snacks in Meikuang village. Zhang also said that he wanted Li to follow him around, wanting to take Li on as a "little brother," and they agreed to meet again the next day via telephone.

At 6:00 PM on October 7, Zhang called Li, arranging to meet at the Xudong intersection. Having obtained this crucial information, the police quickly arrived at the designated location to set up surveillance. In the early hours of yesterday morning, the police swiftly moved in and arrested Zhang. Subsequently, the police went to his rented apartment and found a handgun and Li's ID card. It was confirmed that the gun was actually a lighter shaped like a handgun, and the 500 yuan Zhang had stolen was already down to just 80 yuan in less than a day.

Upon interrogation, it was revealed that Zhang was from Chaohu City, Anhui Province, 22 years old, and had come to Guiyang with his girlfriend over a month ago. He had no fixed occupation and relied on his girlfriend's income from working. Currently, Zhang has been criminally detained by the police.
