On the 20th, we learned from Jiangsu Maotong Law Firm that there has been final progress in this matter: under the witness of officers from the Xuzhou Public Security Bureau Mining Division and lawyers, Ms. Chen, the kindergarten teacher who committed the assault, signed a public security case mediation agreement with Mr. Wang, the father of the victim, Miao Miao. Not only did Chen pay 30,000 yuan for Miao Miao's medical expenses and mental distress compensation, but she also publicly apologized to Miao Miao's parents through newspapers and online media via a letter of apology.
In the apology letter, Chen stated that she had done something she would regret for the rest of her life. As a respected kindergarten teacher, due to a fight between children, she actually "pulled and pointed (details can be seen in surveillance video)" at a child. Afterwards, she deeply regretted her actions; she should have protected the child instead of reacting so excessively. She had sincerely gone to the other party’s home to apologize. Under the mediation of the public security authorities and with the consent of both parties, she was willing to pay a corresponding amount of cash as a gesture of sincerity to compensate for the victimized child's medical expenses, examination fees, and mental distress compensation in order to gain their forgiveness and hoped to reconcile with the child and his family.
According to Lawyer Liu Maotong, he is Miao Miao's proxy lawyer. After the beating incident occurred, he learned about the entire event through our newspaper and was shocked and angry at Chen's behavior. Subsequently, he voluntarily approached Miao Miao's father and offered free legal representation for this case. After multiple communications with Chen and the police, the matter was finally resolved.
The reporter saw in the mediation agreement that after mediation, the main agreements reached by both parties include: first, Chen will publicly apologize to Miao Miao and her family through newspapers and online media via a letter of apology; second, Chen will bear all costs including Miao Miao's medical, examination, and mental distress compensation totaling 30,000 yuan; third, Miao Miao's parents reserve the right to pursue responsibility from the kindergarten leadership; fourth, Miao Miao's family will waive the public security authorities' administrative punishment of Chen; fifth, after reconciliation, Miao Miao's family forgives Chen and will not post any language, text, video, or posts on the internet or other media that could harm Chen.
