Our press (reported by Lu Hongman) - Yesterday morning, bus driver Bian Xiaofeng found a wallet containing more than 700 yuan in cash on his bus. Fortunately, the wallet contained several phone numbers of the owner's relatives. Mr. Bian happily tried to contact them but unexpectedly, they were suspicious of being scammed and claimed they did not know the wallet's owner.

Bian Xiaofeng, 40 years old, is a driver for route 108. At around 10:30 AM yesterday, when he arrived at the terminal station of route 108, Chengxi Passenger Station, the last passenger told him there was a wallet left on the bus. Mr. Bian then noticed a blue wallet lying on the floor at the front of the cabin. Upon opening it, he found some cash inside. He quickly handed over the wallet to the dispatch station.

Under the witness of the fleet leadership, they jointly counted the cash inside the wallet, which amounted to more than 700 yuan. In addition to the cash, the wallet also contained a medical diagnosis certificate issued in Luzhou, Sichuan, with the name of the wallet’s owner written on it. Moreover, a piece of paper inside the wallet had several telephone numbers, two of which were labeled as "Sister" and "Eighth Sister."

Mr. Bian thought these should be the owner's relatives, so he first called "Eighth Sister." Initially, the Sichuan-accented "Eighth Sister" said the wallet belonged to her younger sister, but suddenly she became very cautious and said she didn't know the owner before hanging up the phone. "She probably thought this was a scam call," Mr. Bian speculated. Then, he tried dialing the number of "Sister," only to find that this "Sister" was even more direct. After hearing Mr. Bian's explanation, she replied, "I don't know her. If you really found her wallet, just turn it into the police station."

"I'm so eager to return the wallet to its rightful owner, but..." Mr. Bian said that trust between people in modern society is too low, and many are overly guarded against others, "It's quite tragic."

Out of options, Mr. Bian contacted our newspaper, hoping that the owner sees the report and comes to the dispatch station of route 108 on Fengcheng Twelfth Road to reclaim their wallet.

(The owner's name has been omitted in the article to allow dispatch station staff to confirm the identity when the owner retrieves the wallet.)
