Daubei News - Ms. Tao, female, an employee of a hotel in Hefei.
In January 2008, Ms. Tao's heart opened up to a constantly moving image. In the following days and nights, she learned through this jumping image that the other party's surname was Shi, male, and unmarried.
At the end of February 2008, the two stepped out from the virtual world and saw each other in reality. Afterward, their relationship rapidly deepened, and they registered their marriage on May 20th of the same year. By the end of the year, they had a daughter.
To others, the life of this family seemed happy and real, but later, Ms. Tao discovered that this marriage was actually absurd and illusory because in September 2005, Mr. Shi had already registered his marriage with a woman at a civil affairs bureau in Guangdong.
The truth came to light, and Mr. Shi was sentenced to one and a half years in prison by the Baohe District People's Court of Hefei for the crime of bigamy.
After the verdict took effect, Mr. Shi was sent to prison to serve his sentence.
It seemed like everything had returned to the starting point, except that there was now a wound in Ms. Tao's heart that she would never forget.
After learning that her "husband" Mr. Shi had been sentenced to prison for bigamy, she filed a lawsuit against him, demanding the court declare her marriage to Mr. Shi invalid, and that their daughter be raised by her. She also requested that Mr. Shi pay 800 yuan per month as child support.
The court believed that the marriage between Ms. Tao and Mr. Shi had already been declared invalid. Their daughter, who was still a minor, needed to be raised until she could live independently. Since Mr. Shi was serving his sentence, the daughter would be raised by Ms. Tao. Mr. Shi temporarily lacked the ability to raise her, so he would start paying monthly child support after finishing his sentence. Considering the living standards in Hefei, Mr. Shi should pay 260 yuan per month as child support.
Thus, the court ruled that the daughter would be raised by Ms. Tao, and Mr. Shi would pay 260 yuan per month as child support.
