Xinhua News Agency, Yunnan Channel, June 6 - (Reporter Wang Yan) - Recently, the reporter learned from the Public Security Bureau of Lancang Lahu Autonomous County in Pu'er City that the bureau recently solved a case of intentional homicide. The heartless suspect, in order to defraud compensation for a traffic accident, cruelly pushed a six-year-old boy under a moving vehicle, resulting in the boy's immediate death.
At around 10 PM on May 6, a truck driver reported to the police in Lancang Lahu Autonomous County, Pu'er City, claiming that he had run over and killed a young boy near the Mengbin Gas Station. The traffic police quickly arrived at the scene and questioned three people, including Chen Mou, who claimed to be the deceased's family member. They found that Chen Xiaomou, who claimed to be the boy's father, was unclear about the boy's name and age. After the incident, he showed no concern for how the body would be handled but kept纠缠ing the driver for compensation. The traffic police immediately verified the suspicious points and found out that Chen Xiaomou's son was still studying in school. Then Chen Xiaomou claimed that the deceased was his nephew, so the traffic police transferred the case to the Menglang Police Station for review.
After interrogation, Chen Xiaomou and others confessed: On April 19 this year, man Chen Moumou (at large) colluded with others to bring an unidentified boy, about six years old, to Pingcun Village, Qianliu Township, Lancang County, for Chen Xiaomou to take care of. During this time, Chen Xiaomou, Chen Moumou, and others attempted to sell the boy but failed. Later, they conspired to take the boy to the road and deliberately let passing vehicles run over and kill the child in order to defraud compensation money, agreeing that Chen Xiaomou would impersonate the boy's father. On May 4, they took the child to the Nali Mountain Road in Qianliu Township, Silan Road, Dalinwo Road area, but failed due to the small volume of traffic. On June 6, they took the boy to Mengbin Village in Lancang County. Near the Mengbin Sugar Factory on the road, they first attempted to push the child onto the road, but only managed to knock him down without hitting any vehicle; then Chen Moumou pushed the child towards the right rear wheel of a large sugarcane transport truck, and fled afterwards, causing the boy to be crushed by the right rear wheel of the truck and die on the spot. Chen Xiaomou then demanded compensation from the driver as the deceased's father.
Currently, two suspects, including Chen Xiaomou, have been criminally detained, and the identity of the boy is still being verified. The case is still under further investigation.
