Chongqing Evening News - After driving under the influence and fatally hitting someone, the husband fled the scene. To protect her husband, Sun Mou asked her younger brother to take the blame. Yesterday, Sun Mou was tried at the Shapingba District Court on charges of abetting a crime.
Sun Mou, 25 years old, is from Weiling Temple Village in Phoenix Town, Shapingba District. Around 8 PM on November 26th last year, after having dinner with her husband Yin Mou and their family at a restaurant, Yin Mou drove a Chang'an car carrying the entire family home. On the ShiWeng road section, he collided with a motorcycle driven by Wu Mou. Wu Mou died from severe injuries, while his wife and child on the motorcycle were injured.
Subsequently, Sun Mou called her younger brother and asked him to come to the scene and claim that it was he who had been driving the car. Her brother followed through with all her instructions.
Later, relatives of the victim exposed that Sun Mou's younger brother was not the driver responsible for the accident. Under police investigation, he confessed to taking the blame for her husband. On May 4th this year, Yin Mou was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for one year, for committing a traffic offense.
The prosecution believes that Sun Mou's actions constitute the crime of abetting, recommending the court to sentence her to 3 to 5 months of detention, Sohu Space.
The verdict for this case was not announced in court yesterday.
