China News Service, Taiyuan, May 24 (Lü Wei) - On May 24, it was learned from the Taiyuan Public Security Bureau that two fugitives from Henan suspected of tomb raiding had been captured by the Wanbolin Branch.

On May 20, the police officers of the Mine Responsibility Zone Criminal Police Team arrested the two online wanted criminals, Li HuiZheng (male, 40 years old, from Yiyang County, Henan Province) and Liang ZhiZi (male, 45 years old, from Yiyang County, Henan Province), in Ximing Village, Wanbolin District based on clues.

After investigation, on May 6, 2010, the two were hired to work at a hydrogen fluoride plant in Fanpo Township, Song County, Henan Province. While digging foundations, they unearthed more than 900 jin (approximately 450 kilograms) of ancient coins from the Song Dynasty. Afterwards, the two kept the coins for themselves and sold them, making RMB 11,000 yuan from the sale.

Currently, the two have been handed over to the criminal police of Yiyang County, Henan Province. The case is still under further review.

Recently, the phenomenon of stealing and excavating cultural relics has become a hot topic due to the "theft at the Palace Museum" case. It was announced at the meeting that starting from today, a special campaign against cultural relics crimes would be carried out for eight months in seventeen key provinces including Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, and Xinjiang.
