The first 3D Summit was recently held in Beijing, with the Avatar special effects team and related experts attending. Everyone agreed that 3D cannot save bad movies.

Different from the guests who praised Avatar, Professor Zhao Ningyu of Communication University of China gave a contrary opinion: I believe the main body of films will never be 3D movies, and even less likely to be blockbusters like Avatar.

Lan Xiaolong, screenwriter of popular TV series such as Soldier Outburst and My团长My团, also expressed a similar view: After watching Avatar, I felt that its script was not made to be filmed as a 3D movie. In fact, 3D is just a new way of telling stories.

Andrew·Morgan has produced several Oscar-winning films such as Slumdog Millionaire and The Warriors Gate. When it comes to the development of 3D, Morgan said: For movies, a good story is the most important. If we abuse 3D technology, 3D movies will disappear in 5 years; if we do it well, all movies will be 3D in 10 years.
