The village director suspects that this incident is related to the fact that he led the way for the urban management to investigate illegal construction a few days ago.
The village director's car was parked at his doorstep when it was suddenly attacked by four masked men, causing severe damage to the vehicle.
The smashed car was a dark blue Kia sedan. The front and rear windshields of the sedan were completely shattered, and some bricks and wooden sticks with nails were thrown on the ground.
"I looked down from upstairs and saw four masked men violently smashing my car with bricks and sticks," Mr. Lü said. He rushed downstairs, and those people dropped the sticks and bricks in their hands, got into the car without turning off the engine, and quickly drove away. Due to the darkness, he did not recognize these individuals, but he soon called the police to report the incident.
Mr. Lü said that he is the village director of Qingpu Village in Xiangping Street, and has been re-elected for three terms. He has a good reputation in the village and never easily offends others.
"If there is any grudge, on February 23rd, the Xiangping Enforcement Team of Tong'an Urban Management received reports from villagers and came to the village to investigate illegal constructions. At that time, they required village cadres to lead the way. We were having a meeting, and other village cadres were unwilling to lead the way. As the village director, I had to go and lead the way. I suspect that this car-smashing incident is related to that event. I have already informed the police station of these circumstances and hope they can quickly uncover the truth," Mr. Lü said.
Currently, the police have already intervened in the investigation of this matter.
