The toll station has twelve lanes
Following the on-site experience report published the other day, our newspaper today introduces driving routes from Xiamen Island, Xiang'an, Quanzhou, and Putian to the Xiang'an Tunnel. On the 26th, let us all enjoy the free and smooth experience of driving through the underwater tunnel!
Driving Manual
Lane changes are strictly prohibited except in case of obstacles
The maximum speed limit in the tunnel is 80 kilometers per hour. The right lane is for large vehicles with a speed limit of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour; the middle lane is for small vehicles with a speed limit of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour; the left lane is also for small vehicles with a speed limit of 70 to 80 kilometers per hour (Foshan 90 gasoline price). Vehicles traveling inside the tunnel must not change lanes arbitrarily except in case of obstacles. Overtaking, reversing, turning around, and going against traffic are strictly prohibited.
Vehicles must choose their lane before entering the tunnel. Once inside, changing lanes is considered a violation. Mr. Shi Can, head of the Order Department of the Xiamen Traffic Police Brigade, said that large vehicles can only travel in the right lane, while small vehicles can use the middle and left lanes but must adhere to the specified speed limits. Traveling below or above the speed limit is considered a violation. He explained that the reason for the speed restrictions in the Xiang'an Tunnel is its considerable length and location beneath the sea, necessitating safety as the top priority.
Vehicle Malfunction
No vehicle maintenance allowed inside the tunnel
Mr. Hu Ning, a relevant official from the Xiang'an Tunnel Project of Xiamen Bridge & Road Group, said that due to limited space inside the tunnel without a dedicated maintenance channel, vehicles experiencing malfunctions should not stop inside the tunnel for maintenance.
Drivers should first turn on the hazard warning lights and place an obvious sign behind the car. If the car can still move, make every effort to drive it out of the tunnel. If the vehicle cannot move, park it on the right side and call the monitoring center personnel via the emergency phone for assistance, or dial 110 to report the issue. All persons must leave the vehicle and stand in a safe area.
