The new 45nm Penryn has arrived as scheduled.

According to Intel's product roadmap, in the second quarter of 2008, the fifth generation Centrino platform "Montevina" will be released. This platform will use the latest 45nm Penryn processors. However, prior to this, Intel will upgrade the existing fourth generation Centrino (Santa Rosa), updating the processors from the 65nm Core 2 Duo/Extreme with Merom core to the next-generation 45nm Penryn core. Similar to the previous Napa refresh, Intel will call this platform "Santa Rosa Refresh."
