We humans, when we have a headache, we go to the hospital; when our stomach aches, we buy medicine; when our liver hurts, we undergo surgery. With the development of society up to today, the physical pain and illnesses we endure can mostly be resolved or delayed. However, regarding the mental anguish we face, we are still at a standstill. When our hearts ache, we have nowhere to turn and can only let it torment us.

Thousands of years ago, Jiao Zhongqing's mother drove away Liu Lanzhi, causing them to part ways like the southeasterly flying peacock and swallows flying westward. Thousands of years later, how many divorces are not due to household matters? How many mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationships are truly harmonious? Therefore, while history progresses, not everything moves forward. What we need to do now is to push those things that haven't progressed to move forward as well. Otherwise, the ones deeply affected will not just be the common people, but also the great figures and celebrities.

Here, let's discuss pain and suicide. Many people commit suicide because their suffering cannot be healed, like Sanmao, Hemingway, the chairman of Hyundai Group, and the former prime minister of South Korea. The reason they committed suicide was that they were controlled by their pain and their own emotions.

I have a friend who is an ordinary person, and he also thought about committing suicide due to certain matters. But my little girl, he then pondered: why am I so tormented? I don't want to suffer myself. There must be some issue here. After realizing this problem, he began to look inward with effort. It's like a person with back pain trying to heal himself. He twisted his body and made efforts to look within. Through looking inward, he understood many principles. Although he didn't summarize classic experiences like the self or ego in philosophy, through introspection, he suddenly saw clearly and discovered effective ways to escape from pain, thus living a happy and fulfilling life. This value, for him personally, may far exceed fame and fortune and other external things.

Although self-reflection has certain limitations, and one might never fully see oneself (like one's own back), if you are willing to look and have strong intentions, you will definitely see. You will think of every method and use all possible means to see. For instance, to see your back, you can use photos or mirrors, etc. If you act, there are actually many methods. As long as you are willing to solve the problem, there will definitely be a solution. Otherwise, in the face of pain, there would only be the path of giving up or committing suicide. Many problems, whether faced by great people or ordinary people, remain the same problems. It all depends on how you confront and resolve them.
