Preparations before planting teeth

1. A removable denture should be made in advance for the missing teeth, and it's best to wear it for over a month to adapt. This way, during the months between the first and second phase of the surgery (before the installation of the implant-supported denture), chewing ability and appearance will not be affected.

- Orthodontics;

2. If there has been a tooth extraction or alveolar surgery, one should wait for at least three months until the bone defect has healed, and X-rays show that the quality and shape of the alveolar bone are satisfactory before considering dental implants.

- Porcelain teeth;

3. When undergoing dental implant surgery, ensure good physical health. A general blood test should be performed; patients with mild hypertension should have their blood pressure return to normal, and women should avoid menstruation.

- Orthodontics;

4. Maintain oral hygiene before the surgery. Teeth cleaning should be done beforehand, and any oral inflammation or diseases should be cured.

- Teeth whitening;

5. Dental implant surgery is generally performed in an outpatient surgical room, and one can rest at home after the surgery. Hospitalization is also an option, but during this period, self-care is usually sufficient, and no companion is generally needed.

- Dental implants;

6. It’s best to bring along any previous dentures and photos taken before the tooth loss for the restoration dentist’s reference, so as to make the implanted dentures appear more natural and realistic in terms of tooth alignment and color.
