Recently, Besen Culture and Lianping Ting Film Fund jointly launched the DVD of Cong Feng's documentary works "Dr. Ma's Clinic" and "Faith". Among them, "Dr. Ma's Clinic" is the D9 version, and "Faith" is the D5 version. These two films are the first two works of Cong Feng's ongoing series "Italy in Gansu" about Huangyangchuan, Gulang County, Gansu Province. Currently, Cong Feng is producing the third work of this series. Regarding Huangyangchuan, Gansu, Cong Feng once said, "Huangyangchuan is like a miniaturized model of China; it is essentially a rather closed place that is constantly being changed by external forces. This change has not achieved some openly proclaimed intentions but is just an accumulation of illusions." Regarding "Dr. Ma's Clinic," people come to the clinic to relieve physical pain, yet they unintentionally reveal the roots of their spiritual and life-related suffering during their conversations. In this sense, the clinic serves a dual function: a space for treating illness - a social venue for casual talk, expressing distress, and sharing experiences. Dr. Ma treats patients' physical pain, while I record their complaints, anger, or sighs about life. The clinic is a temporarily enclosed space where acquaintances or passersby share their feelings, and I am one of the sharers.

Huangyangchuan Town, Gulang County, Gansu Province. Two members of a family in the village die unexpectedly within a short period. To ward off evil spirits and ensure safety, people decide to renovate the old temple in the village. During the celebration ceremony after the renovation is completed, Buddha statues, Mao Zedong portraits, Taoist priests, and spirit mediums gather together... This film aims to use the details of this celebration activity to showcase the general belief situation of the Chinese people. Director's statement: Even in an atheist country, for most people, worshiping some false gods is necessary - but does this faith really bring them the blessings they seek?
