History: The Kurenai are a group of the Broken who have escaped the grasp of their various enslavers in Outland. Recently, they have settled in Telaar, a city deep in southern Nagrand. Unlike many other Broken, the Kurenai do their best to overcome their demonic heritage. Despite their friendly spirit, they are extremely wary of strangers, as these often confuse them with their despicable relatives. A group of Kurenai is located in Zangarmarsh at Orebor Hold, where they try to strengthen the ties between the Draenei in Telredor and their home city of Telaar. Despite all good intentions, the path of destiny that the Kurenai walk is long and dangerous, with threats lurking on both sides of the road—literally. For until messengers can travel quickly and unhindered between Telaar and Telredor, the roads of Zangarmarsh must first be secured. This task proves extremely difficult, as the marshes harbor the concentrated threat of an extremely aggressive fauna. The greatest direct threat to the Kurenai, however, are the ogres. In Zangarmarsh, the Ango’rosh ogres approach from the west, while in Nagrand the tribes of the Rockfists and Spirit Stalkers constantly keep the inhabitants of Telaar in fear. Battles between the different ogre tribes have allowed some of their most savage beasts to escape into the wilderness, where they now lie in wait for prey. Another problem facing the Kurenai is another tribe of the Broken: the Darkbloods. These uncivilized Broken have taken over the Mag’har outpost near Sunspring and have thus ruined any chance of peaceful coexistence between the Kurenai and the Mag’har for the foreseeable future. What makes matters worse: It seems that the Darkbloods plan to use their newfound strength against the residents of Telaar. Since the Kurenai are trying to make contact with their Draenei kin, they support the Draenei decision to join the Alliance by allowing members of the Alliance to enter Telaar without hindrance. Those who visit Telaar will find that the Kurenai, although prejudiced against strangers, are kind-hearted and generously reward the friendship of proven allies.
