The Zhou Qin Culture Industry Demonstration Zone passed expert review in Beijing, ranked in Shaanxi Province's second batch of cultural industry demonstration bases; China Rites and Music City with magnificent atmosphere attracted a great many tourists, won three national honors such as "International Tourist Cultural Destination"; newly formed Zhou Ritual Orchestra, the first nationwide to perform in Beijing caused a sensation; newly built Famen Temple Buddha Light Avenue, Shigu Mountain Shigu Pavilion and newly renovated Taizhen Taoist Temple, Lingshan Temple, Dasan Pass and other scenic spots were all renewed. Since last year, the opening up of Baoji cultural tourism industry has been smooth. The whole city's cultural tourism industry invested nearly 3 billion yuan, cultural tourism project investment growth rate reached over 30%, effectively bringing up the tertiary industry rapidly, accounted for 30.5% in the whole city's GDP, completely reversing the situation that Baoji's tertiary industry accounted for GDP proportion continuously declining for three years, has become an important part of building harmonious and enterprising new Baoji.
Baoji Breakthrough in Tourism
Baoji is the birthplace of Emperor Yan, Chinese ancestors' hometown, Baoji is the paradise where ancestors lived, Baoji is the cradle of Zhou and Qin, the source of poetry and propriety, there are endless stories about the three teachings, there are countless generations of odes. However, for a long time, Baoji cultural tourism industry developed slowly, stuck in the "East Hot West Cool" puzzle of Shaanxi tourism and could not extricate itself. In 2008, Baoji's per capita gross national product had reached $2780. The plan proposes to build the Guantian economic zone into a historical and cultural base highlighting Chinese civilization. Among the five major cultural industry parks proposed for construction, Baoji takes two; among the five premium tourism corridors, Baoji takes three; among the six premium tourism zones, Baoji again takes two. Baoji is an excellent tourist city in China and one of the top 100 cities in China's tourism competitiveness. With the deep implementation of the plan, taking the development of cultural tourism industry as the breakthrough point to drive the tertiary industry is timely and can make great achievements.
Baoji is the source of Chinese civilization. Time-honored historical events such as Shen Nong tasting hundreds of herbs, Tai Wang migrating to Qi, King Wen founding Zhou, King Wu overthrowing Zhou, Duke Zhou establishing rites, Xiang Gong establishing the country, Mu Gong dominating, Shi Huang being crowned, and openly repairing plank roads while secretly crossing Chen Cang all occurred in Baoji. Historical records state that Emperor Yan succeeded due to Jiang Water, and Emperor Huang succeeded due to Ji Water.
