The waters of the Huang River are picturesque. The river originates from caves, flowing along the mountains and valleys, creating waterfalls where it drops, pools where it gathers, rapids where it runs, and tranquil ponds where it rests. This forms scenic spots such as the Little Huangguoshu Waterfall, Two Dragons Playing with a Pearl, Divine Turtle Pool, Three Dragons Flying Waterfall, and the Python Lake. The beauty of these sights has earned the area the nickname of "Little Guilin of North China."

The Huang River Ecological Tourist Area belongs to a rocky mountainous region, mainly composed of crystalline and metamorphic rocks. The terrain features deep ravines, canyons, strange peaks, and waterfalls and pools. The highest peak within the area is Zhi Zhu Mountain (elevation 1572.6 meters), while the lowest point is Guai Zhuang (elevation 300 meters). There are four main gullies: Hou Da He Gou, Yang Zhuang He Gou, Nan He Gou, and Guai Zhuang Huang He Gou, all interconnected. Major peaks include Stone Man Mountain, Peacock Mountain, Chessboard Mountain, Zhi Zhu Mountain, Cave Mountain, San Pan Mountain, Two Finger Peak, and Meng Bi Sheng Hua. The undulating hills, deep ravines, and towering peaks create a dramatic landscape of steep cliffs and deep valleys.

The forests of the Huang River are lush. The forest coverage rate exceeds 80%, with the springtime bringing vibrant greenery and blooming flowers in full splendor. Summer sees dense foliage providing a cool and refreshing atmosphere, while autumn paints the mountains red with fiery leaves and bountiful fruits, offering a breathtaking panorama that fills the viewer with joy and peace.
