The operator of RuneScape has charged Vgoldzone for providing a certain amount of RuneScape gold to RuneScape players and requested that Vgoldzone cease its business operations and compensate for the losses. Established on January 1st, 2008, Vgoldzone is the largest global provider of virtual gold. They offer virtual gold for more than ten types of online games, including RuneScape, The Lord of the Rings, MapleStory, and others. They employ professional gaming teams to earn gold within these games and then sell this gold to players.
We conducted a survey regarding virtual gold providers, and more than half of the players admitted they would attempt to purchase gold from such providers. Moreover, 80% of buyers argue it is unfair for the RuneScape operator to prohibit and sue Vgoldzone for providing virtual gold. They claim it takes too much time and energy to earn RuneScape gold, and most importantly, making money in RuneScape is boring. If a player wants to buy clothing, items, or equipment, they first need to earn RuneScape gold, which can also harm the players' health. Without gold providers, some players might give up on the game altogether.
While players thank Vgoldzone, the RuneScape operator accuses Vgoldzone of violating the rules of online gaming. However, players believe that if RuneScape wishes to attract more players, they need to make significant changes. Perhaps they should establish a branch business as a gold provider and invite Vgoldzone to join them, creating a win-win business opportunity together. We will simply have to wait and see what unfolds between these two opposing sides in the coming week.
