Rotten in Nanjing

Maybe inspired by the movie "Nanjing! Nanjing!", after I sent CANDY onto the plane from Shanghai to New York, I drove here alone to this ancient city - Nanjing. I've been here three times and there are two good friends in Nanjing who went with me to Yunnan-Tibet 8 years ago. But this time, I do nothing but relax quietly and waste time in this ancient city. :) Maybe I should find an excuse for myself. Since my child was born, I've become busier day by day. I haven't relaxed well yet. At 7 o'clock in the evening, I entered Nanjing. The GPS successfully guided me to the small alley where the Nanjing International Youth Hostel is located. It's a small western-style house in the old residential area. It's said that it used to be the residence of a general during the Republic of China period. A small wooden door, I gently pressed the doorbell, the door opened. There is a garden bar surrounding the small building inside. Like the youth hostel in Chengdu, there are all foreigners here. Perhaps tonight, except for me and the hostel staff, there will be no other Chinese people. Leisure music is lightly playing in my ears, the air is full of floral fragrance. Several foreigners sit in the corners of the open-air bar, chatting, surfing the Internet, or reading books, very quiet. Suddenly, I found that I fell in love with this little inn. Whether it's the smell of roasted meat wafting from the kitchen in the backyard or the white sheets in my room printed with the youth hostel logo, everything carries a faint, long-lost taste. Surfing the net and spacing out in the bar downstairs, thinking that CANDY's flight will not land on the other side of the ocean for another 10 hours. I am really worried whether the swine flu rampaging in North America will affect CANDY. But I know clearly that we have always been lucky. Soon, the week will pass, and soon, after 7 days, I will be able to pick up my dearest CANDY at the airport again.
