The Municipal Enrollment Office will publicize the 2010 college entrance examination candidate information and strictly review the candidates' qualifications through the public security household registration system.

According to Chongqing Huaronline, the enrollment work for Chongqing's 2010 college entrance examination will begin this Saturday (December 5). Yesterday, the reporter learned from the Municipal Enrollment Office that there would be four new measures to strictly check the candidates' qualifications. In addition to publicizing the enrollment information, the Public Security Department will also review through the household registration management system to strictly examine the candidates' enrollment qualifications.

It is understood that the enrollment work will end on December 10, and the enrollment conditions are roughly the same as in previous years. Any candidate who has graduated from high school or has equivalent academic ability and meets the physical health requirements stipulated in the "Regulations on the Examination of Household Registration and Academic Records of Candidates Enrolled in the National General University Entrance Examination in Chongqing Municipality" can enroll.

Candidates who have changed their "ethnicity" must change it back.

This year, the Municipal Enrollment Office will join forces with the Municipal Public Security Bureau and other departments to take four new measures to strengthen the review of candidates' enrollment qualifications.

Firstly, preliminary investigation. The Municipal Education Commission requires all districts and counties to organize schools to carefully investigate the candidates' enrollment qualifications before enrollment. Those who do not meet the conditions will be firmly expelled.

Secondly, identity comparison. All district and county enrollment offices must carefully review during enrollment, completely and meticulously collect the ID numbers of all candidates, and submit the candidates' ID information to the local public security organs for review. Candidates without an ID number or who do not meet the household registration requirements will not be allowed to enroll.

After the citywide candidates' data is reported, the Municipal Enrollment Office will also submit the collected candidates' identity information to the Municipal Public Security Bureau for review through the household registration management system.

Regarding the incident of "violating regulations to change ethnic identity" that occurred in the 2009 college entrance examination in our city, relevant personnel from the Higher Education Recruitment Office reminded through this newspaper: Some candidates who have changed from "Han" to a minority ethnicity should enroll according to Han ethnicity and quickly change the ethnic component on their household registration. Otherwise, they will be strictly investigated.

Strictly investigating vocational high schools engaging in college entrance examination immigration.

The third measure is to particularly strictly investigate vocational high schools and irregularly enrolled out-of-town candidates participating in "college entrance examination immigration." Starting from 2010, the Municipal Enrollment Office will strengthen the review of ordinary high school graduates' academic records. During the college entrance examination enrollment, the Municipal Enrollment Office will review the candidates' high school academic records through the Municipal Education Commission's secondary school academic record management system to see if they meet the enrollment conditions. Those who do not meet the conditions will have their enrollment qualifications revoked. For the review of vocational high school graduates' academic records, the strict implementation of the Municipal Education Commission's "Urgent Notice on Strictly Prohibiting Irregular Recruitment by Secondary Vocational Schools Participating in 'College Entrance Examination Immigration'" will be followed.

The fourth measure is that the candidates' enrollment information will also be publicized at the school. Candidates found to not meet the conditions after being reported will have their enrollment qualifications revoked.
