What do you do on Halloween?

November 1 is the western Halloween. October 31 is the eve of Halloween. It is usually called All Hallows' Eve. Whenever All Hallows' Eve comes, children can't wait to put on colorful costumes and wear weird masks. They go from house to house with a "Jack-o'-lantern" and ask adults for gifts.

The most well-known symbols of Halloween are these two - the cute "Jack-o'-lantern" and the trick-or-treating prank.

The "Jack-o'-lantern" is very lovely and easy to make. Hollow out the pumpkin, then carve smiling eyes and a big mouth on it. Then insert a candle in the pumpkin and light it. People can see this cute smile from afar. This is the favorite toy for children.

However, the highlight of All Hallows' Eve is still on the dining table. You need to prepare delicious food to entertain those "little ghosts" who come to play tricks, and you must also decorate your dining table on this special occasion. Don't let your guests look down on you!

This night is the most "haunted" time of the year, when all kinds of ghosts, pirates, aliens and witches come out. Before the Christian era, the Celts held ceremonies at the end of summer to thank God and the sun. At that time, fortune-tellers lit fires and cast spells to drive away the ghosts said to be wandering around. Later, the Roman harvest festival celebrated with nuts and apples merged with the Celtic October 31. In the Middle Ages, people wore animal-shaped clothes and terrible masks to drive away ghosts on All Hallows' Eve. Although Christianity later replaced the Celtic and Roman religious activities, early customs were still preserved. Now, children wear various costumes and masks jokingly to attend the All Hallows' Eve party. These parties often hang paper-made witches, black cats, ghosts and skeletons on the walls around them, and have scary or ugly pumpkin lanterns hanging by windows and doors.

So what are you going to do on Halloween?

As for me, I didn't know which day it was, until today I learned about it, hehe, that day I went shopping with my girlfriend. What about you?
