According to experts from the Yantai Meteorological Bureau, this spectacular scene was actually caused by a tornado. A tornado is a strong wind vortex accompanied by a funnel-shaped cloud column rotating at high speed. The wind speed near its center is several times greater than the maximum wind speed near the center of a typhoon (which occurs at sea). The central pressure is very low, generally it can be as low as 400hPa, and the lowest can reach 200hPa.
